A note on ticket pricing: One of Shakespeare in the Woods’ core values within our mission statement is to make art that is accessible to all audiences regardless of socioeconomic standing. To reflect this, we have a sliding scale ticket model available to our audiences.
Our suggested General Admission Adult ticket price is $20, which we recognize will be more than affordable for some and still prohibitive for others. We’ve set this price intentionally to address the financial barrier that so often comes with attending theatre. It is also important to recognize that $20 doesn’t in any form reflect the real economics of making our productions happen or compensating our artists- to truly do so would mean a much higher ticket price. You can learn more about the economics of our productions under the "Support SitW" tab. A $20 ticket is what we at SitW hope is an accessible middle ground for you, however, if you need to pay less or access a comp ticket, we strongly encourage you to contact us at shakespeareinthewoodsvt@gmail.com .
Theatre is for everyone, and we would love to have you in the audience.
ADA Info:
A top priority of SitW is to maintain a thoughtful relationship with the outdoor space where our work takes place, and at the same time we are mindful of the fact that our performance setting can pose specific physical accessibility challenges.
SitW's 2023 host venue, NCC, is ADA compliant for parking, signage, and restrooms. There is an accessible lift inside the civic center to enable attendees to access restrooms on both floors, as well as being a secondary option for accessing SitW’s performance space located behind the civic center.
The primary access option for disabled audience members using walkers, wheelchairs, or other mobility devices is to be driven directly around back to the lawn performance space. We have volunteer staff members who are able to assist further with moving from a car onto the grass for seating along a flat surface. We make sure to advise the safest route for everyone when entering the performance space. Audience seating is amenable and can easily be switched to provide space for wheelchairs and other individual seating needs on a case by case basis. We are General Admission tickets only, and end of row seating is always available for people that need or require it.
As a growing company, SitW is continuing to implement practices and protocol to make our work more physically, visually, and auditory accessible (for both audiences and company members) with every season.
